Preparing for the 3G Network Shutdown in Canada
As technology advances, it brings exciting new benefits, but, it also means saying goodbye to some older systems. A significant change is coming as telecommunications companies across the country prepare to retire their 3G networks. The phasing out will begin on March 31, 2025.

As older technology is replaced, networks become more efficient and can support advanced features. However, devices that rely on 3G technology will be impacted once the 3G signal is no longer available.
If your security system currently operates with a 3G radio, it will no longer be able to communicate with our monitoring center after the 3G shutdown. This could cause disruptions in your security service. To ensure your system stays active we recommend upgrading to a device that supports at least a 4G connection.

What options are available?
Since systems vary, there are multiple options available. While a full system upgrade is always an option, we offer affordable solutions. (Some systems may require a full upgrade to function properly.)
Do I have to upgrade my system?
With the evolution of technology, some older tech may become obsolete. In this case, the radios we depend on will not function properly, therefore our customers will not get the service we expect them to receive.
How long will the install take?
Based on the type of system, replacing the radio is a quick process that should take under an hour. If you are looking at a quote for a full system upgrade, your install time may not be as fast as there is more to the installation.
Will my monthly rate be affected?
If you are simply replacing your 3G radio, your rate will remain the same for the new term. However, if you opt for a full system upgrade or add features, customers may be offered an increase to accommodate the latest technology.
Do I need to sign a new 36 month agreement?
A 36-month agreement allows us to give our customers the best value for this solution. If looking for a shorter term, please mention this to your consultant to be advised of any additional upfront charges, if any.
